How to make Foxtail Bread?

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the sugar, salt and oil. Keep aside for 2 minutes.
  • Add the foxtail millet flour, whole wheat flour, and milk and mix them into a smooth dough.
  • Knead for about 8 to 10 minutes and place in a greased bowl.
  • Cover and let it rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1- 1/2 hrs, and set the oven temperature to 210°C.
  • After 1- 1/2 hr punch down the dough onto a floured surface.
  • Shape them into a loaf place them in a greased loaf pan and bake them at 210°C for 15 to 20 mins.
  • Remove from the pan cool them and cut them into loaves. Use it for making a vegetable sandwich or toast.
  • Slice and serve your foxtail millet bread with your favorite spreads or use it to make sandwiches. Enjoy!
