  1. Boil the Water: Heat 1 cup of water to boiling in a small saucepan. Keep it lukewarm only. 
  2. Add Cinnamon:  If using a cinnamon stick, immerse it in boiling water.  If you are using cinnamon powder, pour a spoonful of the powder into the boiling water. 
  3. Simmer: Reduce the heat and let it boil for a few minutes, maybe 5 to 10 minutes. This will help the cinnamon dissolve in the water. 
  4.  Strain and Serve:  If you have put a cinnamon stick in the water, remove it at this stage.
