Ingredients of Little Millet Tomato Rice

Little Millet1 cup
Onion1 (chopped)
Carrot1 cup
Tomato2 (chopped)
Green Chilli1
Curry Leaves1 sprig
Ginger1 Tbsp (finely chopped)
Mustard Seeds1 Tbsp
Bengal Gram1 Tbsp
Urad Dal1 Tbsp
Turmeric Powder¼ Tbsp
Red Chilli Powder¼ Tbsp
Coriander Leaves2 Tbsp (chopped)
Water1 ¾ to 2 cups
Saltto taste
Oil2 Tbsp
Green Peas½ cup

How to make Little Millet Tomato Rice?

  1. Wash and soak a little millet for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  3. Then add Bengal gram, and urad dal and saute gently then add onion, ginger, green chili, green peas, carrot, and curry leaves and saute.
  4. Add tomato, turmeric, and red chili powder and mix well till soft.
  5. Add water and salt mix well and let it boil.
  6. Then add a little millet mix well cover it and cook for 3 whistles.
  7. Then add coriander leaves, mix well, and serve hot with coconut chutney or pickle
